Friends of Karen Adopt-A-Family Program
Make your own holiday celebration more meaningful by “adopting” a family with a critically ill child - participate in the Friends of Karen Adopt-A-Family Program.
Imagine shopping amidst the holiday chaos when you have a hospitalized child and are worried about how to pay your electric bill.
Friends of Karen is dedicated to helping seriously ill children and their families throughout the New York tri-state area with financial, emotional and advocacy support. Although we do this all during the year, we are determined to do all we can to keep the holidays a special time of joy for our children and their families. One important way we do this is through our Holiday Adopt-A-Family Program. We know just what the children wants for the holidays because the parents send us a “wish list” for each child in the family.
That is why we ask friends, just like you, to help as much as you can - adopt a child, shop for gifts, purchase a gift card or simply make a donation and we will do the shopping. No matter what your budget, you can make a difference.
In 2008 you helped us fulfill the wish lists of 787 children.
Working together, we can do it again!
Please find out more about Friends of Karen at our website www.friendsofkaren.org. And if you would like to participate this year, please contact Volunteer Coordinator, Denise Tredwell at denisetredwell@friendsofkaren.org or call her directly 914-617-4052.
It feels good to make wishes come true.
