We have a variety of volunteer opportunities for you, below are just a few examples.

  • Easter & Passover ProjectThis Spring collect grocery gift cards to Pathmark, A&P, ShopRite and Stop & Shop so our families may have a special holiday meal.
  • Coloring Book Drive – Collect new coloring books and crayons for our kids in the hospital.
  • Birthday Program – Collect items for our birthday toy pantry. Call for wish list of gifts.
  • School Supplies Project Collect school supplies and backpacks. All year round.
  • Pantry Drive – Collect paper towels, tissues, hand sanitizer wipes, baby wipes.
  • Coin Harvest – Organize and run a loose change collection to benefit Friends of Karen or recycle cans and bottles and donate the change to Friends of Karen.
  • Gift Certificate Drive – collect $5 gift certificates to iTunes, Dunkin’ Donuts, McDonald’s, Subway, Burger King, Pizza Hut and Starbuck’s.
  • Tag Sale – Turn your junk into treasure and organize a tag sale to benefit Friends of Karen. We’ll start you off with a box of tag sale “stuff.”
  • Dress-Down DayCharge staff or students for the opportunity to “dress down” for the day.
  • Thanksgiving Baskets – Put together a basket of Thanksgiving food and a $20 A&P, Food Emporium, Stop & Shop or ShopRite gift certificate for the turkey.  Call for details in October.
  • Holiday Adopt-A-Family Program – Fulfill the wish lists of our special children – call for information in October. (We also need AA & AAA batteries, gift wrap, bows, tape & holiday candy.)
