Pam Hervey joined the board of Friends of Karen in 2002, after learning about the organization from a friend and then spending some time volunteering. With a young child and another on the way at the time, Pam was moved by the practicality and compassion in the support Friends of Karen provides to the families it serves. She has been happy to be able to use her background in finance and corporate management to help facilitate the growth of Friends of Karen for more than 20 years. Pam served as Board President from 2011-2017. She lives in Northern Westchester County with her family and 3 dogs. Pam’s great love is music: she is a drummer, percussionist and vocalist and has been a member of the rock band Lawless, and the duo Palomino.

Tom Jocelyn is President and CEO of Scientific Electric Company (est. 1941), a specialized electrical contracting firm that has helped build many of New York CIty’s iconic parks and landmarks. Tom has been involved with Friends of Karen since 2012 through his membership in the Somers Lions Club. His enthusiasm and support of Friends of Karen and other non-profits stems from his own personal family experiences with cancer and the challenges and community that are critical to support not only the ill-family member, but the family. He was honored with Friends of Karen’s Humanitarian Award in 2015 and continues to support Friends of Karen as a member of the Board of directors and treasurer. With Tom’s construction expertise, his participation in activities and by extending his network of colleagues to support FOK’s mission furthers his support and helps to strengthen Friends Of Karen.

With over a decade of real estate experience, Louis Meltzer is the principal of LEM Equities, LLC a real estate investment and management company based in Westport, CT. Prior to starting his own company, Louis was Vice President at Four Springs Capital Trust, a private net lease REIT. Louis was introduced to Friends of Karen in 2012, when he attended their annual golf outing with his father. Ever since, he has been a generous, annual donor. He was one of the charter members of Friends of Karen’s “Young Professionals” group (now the Next Generation Leadership Council).  As an active participant and advocate of Friends of Karen, Louis co-sponsored a very successful happy hour event for the organization. Louis said “I’m honored to join the Board of such an esteemed organization as Friends of Karen. I look forward to furthering the cause of this wonderful group and doing what I can to help grow its success even further.” Louis received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in International Finance and Marketing from the University of Miami. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the Hofstra University School of Law. Additionally, Louis holds Series 7 and Series 63 Securities Licenses and is licensed as a New York Real Estate Salesperson. He resides in Westport, CT. with his wife and two sons.
