Friends of Karen, which supports critically-ill children and their families, has added two new members to its Board of Directors, New York City residents, Laura Salerno and Sara Colodner.
With nearly a decade of public relations experience, Laura Salerno is a communications and media relations strategist.  Prior to launching her own consulting practice in 2015, she was a VP at Havas, a publicly-traded, multinational advertising and public relations company.  Previously, Laura was a VP at Rubenstein Public Relations, where she spent more than seven years overseeing PR and media relations strategy on a variety of high-profile accounts.
Laura was introduced to Friends of Karen as a teenager when her father, who sat on the Long Island Advisory Board, brought her along to the organization’s annual Tribeca Rooftop fundraiser event.  Ever since, she has served on the Tribeca Rooftop Committee, New York City Advisory Board, and initiated the Young Professionals Leadership Committee, which organizes a series of events to raise awareness of Friends of Karen amongst young professionals in New York City. Laura received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University and resides in Manhattan.
Sara Colodner is the Director of East Coast Sales at Kin Community, a digital media and entertainment company that specializes in millennial women’s content including food, fashion, beauty, DIY, home, health, wellness, and entertainment.
