The season of gratitude, joy and peace is upon us. Despite the festivities around us , the holidays can be a particularly challenging time for many of our Friends of Karen families. Friends of Karen anticipates the needs of each family in order to ease burdens- providing food, gifts, financial assistance and emotional support so that families may have the chance to to exhale and enjoy the ordinary pleasures and traditions of the holiday season.

Reflecting on what we are thankful for is a tradition that research suggests can actually lift the spirits. Sharing gratitude strengthens relationships, bottles up those warm, fuzzy feelings, inspires us to relish the positive and helps us recognize sources of goodness- whether it is within ourselves or connects us to something bigger.

The struggles Friends of Karen families face may appear to be a hurdle in recognizing the positive, yet year after year Friends of Karen children show us that love and appreciation so often grow stronger with struggle. That perspective helps these amazing families recognize what fills their hearts with thanks.

We invite you to watch these sweet faces in the video below. We hope they inspire you to fill your own holiday season with gratitude and generosity.
