We Wish You Light
The holiday season is upon us and with that comes the inevitable hustle and bustle, excitement and celebration. We hope that your table is filled with abundance; of food, family and friends. We hope that your days, as the song goes, are merry and bright.
A common thread that weaves throughout different cultures and religions during the holiday season is the idea of finding light in times of darkness. Though we also embrace the merriment of the season and wish our Friends of Karen community joy and good cheer, we acknowledge that for some, this time of year can be especially challenging. In the quiet moments of reflection of this past year we see the heaviness that has been held by the strength of our community and feel immense gratitude to find light in the times of darkness. We are grateful for the generosity of our donors, the seemingly endless empathy of our staff and the love and resilience of our Friends of Karen families. Because of you, FoK families have more time to love. In turn, these incredible families provide daily demonstrations of the very definition of the word.
Wishing joy, peace, comfort or whatever your heart may need in this season. Most of all- we wish you light. Our hands in yours, always.
